Hey Fellow Scrappers, have you ever picked up an item and then feel real guilty that it must be scrapped. I picked up a 36 inch tv today but it looks to be in awesome shape and I am starting to feel real bad about having to bust it apart first thing tomorrow morning when I hit my garage aka, my office.

If it works, toss it on Craigs for at least $50.00

If it's that nice, I would try to sell it complete first...

No one buys tv unless its a flat screen. Bulty tvs are a dime a dozen.

Had a nice 22 in rim for a newer GMC Yukon that was brand new but only had one. Tried to sell it for a couple of months...kept dropping the price till I got to a C note then scrapped it for $82.

That reminds me, I had a rim and the temporary spare from a Porsche. Don't remember the size, never knew what year. Tried to sell em both. For some reason no one was interested. So after a few months I popped off the center cap (still got that) and scrapped em. Wish I woulda held on to em tho. It kind of neat. Probably the closest I'll ever to come to owning one. lol

You scrapped an alum rim for $82? Dang that's good money! Lol I thought I was doing pretty good today when I got just under $32 for a 20" BMW rim.

I should go back and see if I can find the ticket cuz that doesn't seem right now that I think about it...I do know I was surprised that it brought as much as it did. I was was also glad when I didn't have to worry scratching it anymore and just threw it in the back of the van.

I guess you can only keep so much stuff, and a CRT TV of that size is super heavy.

My son works for a tire store now and is going to try making a few glass top rim tables from aluminum rims that he got for cheap, he's targeting "Man Caves"....I will have to let you all know how it goes.

Curb - hunt - dismantling - One day will bite us all in the ass, how could it not . When you consider you wish you had your child hood toys to resell - one day one can only imagine what ramifications we will feel when we see the countless scraped items selling vintage and because we scraped them so much. Some odd ball might want a old TV in the year 2050 . But the vintage computers and the CRT's that match them I feel some one will want some of them some day !!
