I know what you're saying. As far as geographic location of our visitors, we have visitors spread out literally everywhere, east coast, west coast, Canada... The only way, and I mean the only way to make a compromise regarding 'distance', would be to place the event smack dab in the middle of the country.

The parking lot and nearby spaces may be as important as the hotel, especially for people who plan to sleep in big trucks. I've read about some cities I'd rather avoid because I can't afford the parking and towing fees.

I know Gary is hardcore town..but this not "milk toast" crowd either. The way the industrial heartland has suffered really hurts a working class guy like me. It would be nice to bring business to a hurtin' town that provided so much to what many of us remember as middle class America. These towns were sold out in my view..lets give something back. the locals would be insane to mess with a pack of junkyard dogs!!

In the summer, our gasoline goes even higher because of the switch to a cleaner burning formula.

I thought that was in the winter months. I know I get better mileage in the summer when there isn't as much crap in the gas.

In California, at least, it is to cut down on smog. This last year right before the switch to the winter formula, we had a huge price spike when a refinery went down. I'm not sure if they did it, but they were considering switching over sooner to lower the price of gasoline. We are the only state to do this, or at least to use this specific forumula in the summer. So, when the refinery went down, there wasn't enough gasoline to go around since none could be imported from other states. The biggest shortage was with unbranded gasoline.

As interested as I am, and as much as I would like the convenience of having it close by, I have to insist you all stay the hell away from Cincinnati. You guys would clean out all the scrap in town, and there goes my beer money for a month!

I think a national meet-up would be great. I don't spend much time on the forum, but have received a ton of knowledge from the members each time I log on. If there is anything I could do to help Admin, please let me know.

Hey sirscrapalot I've got "007" copy write protected.

    Let's see Memphis,

Plenty of places to meet at.
    Main convention center is downtown.
Short pop across the River is possibly cheaper rooms with plenty of places to eat at and a dog racing track.
Short pop down to Mississippi are the casinos.
    Beal Street.
    Bar-B-Q contest in October.
And there are probably some Elvis fans on here too.
We buy electronic scrap, Gold Karat scrap, gold filled, refined gold, silver and many other item's.
