Talking to guy across the street today!

So got snow in Michigan and was out shoveling the drive when they guy across the street starts talking to me about the scrap that he sees in my truck. I have seem some stuff in his truck from time to time. Nothing major though. We get to talking and He tells me he just throws computer towers into shred.

i explained that I would buy them from him and he told me I can have the internals as long as he gets the shred. I still feel like if im going to gut them I owe him somthing. Guess when I cash in I could buy a case of beer for him. Just never know where you will network with people! Not really talked to the guy besides today, and now I have another source of boards.

Never know where things will fall into place!

Nice score, maybe take him to lunch one day. I have a connection like that with tv's and monitors that I give to him and he gives me tha boards and he gets rid of the tubes and plastic.

Wish I had someone who would take Tv tubes and plastic without charging me. I stay away from them for that reason. Or I would grab them up all day long!

Sprocket, what do they usually charge for CRT's in your area? I live in Toledo and haven't researched if anyone around here takes them for free, or what the cost per tube/per pound to dispose of them is.

The closest place I know of is in Ann Arbor. They charge .30/lbs for tvs. I would assume it is the same for crt monitors.

Just look at their site again. Computer monitors up to 19" $15 per unit. Yard up here won't take tvs and crt monitors.

You might check with Mario and see what they do with monitors they get with their computer loads, they should have an outlet for them.
Might have some info to help you out. It's only a phone call/ email/ PM.

During the summer buy him a case of beer and in winter shovel his driveway for him. That way you both win and everyone is happy. Only shovel the driveway as much as you get computers and when he realizes you do more when he gets more computers he will be more likely to hunt them down for you.
