Hey Happy, I live on the outside skirts of Atlanta. It's been around 35-40 here so not too bad. I have everything broke down except for about 60-70 degaussing cables. All boards are broke down, all yokes have been cleaned. All trash has been hauled off. I'll post a pic soon fellas!

Also some things like the yokes....what I've been doing is taking a burlap sack, throwing about 8-10 of them in there and going to town with the sledge hammer. Then I dump the sack into a small trash can, picking out the copper, snipping off unwanted materials. Get's the job done in a breeze with no mess. Degaussing cables I still havent found a way to strip them very fast, I heard the ebay wire stripper works good.

Don't forget the big chunks of ferrite (the black stuff) to fill a microwave chassis or computer chassis with. It's powdered iron.

Nice job...love the copper buckets. In the picture of the low grade boards, the one on top in the upper left corner of the board there is copper on a white spindle. Those can go with your mtrs/transformers too.the small transformers can get picked off too. Get your moneys worth out of them.

I agree, there looks to be quite a few smaller transformers, coils, chokes, still left on the boards, not to mention some large IC chips.
But that's just how I clean them.

I just cut my losses on the last 15 or so boards I did (on the top). I went and picked up 2 truck&trailer loads of steel yesterday along with 5 pc's/servers from the mid 80's. Tonight I might go through the boards and clean them a little better. How much do the IC chips pay? That's the only thing I didnt clean doing them.

At my yard, flybacks go for $.10 per pound, which is the same as what they pay for the low grade boards. I quit busting them apart for the speck of copper and leave them on the board. I think it ends up being a better deal in time/money to just leave them alone.

Degaussing cables I still haven't found a way to strip them very fast, I heard the ebay wire stripper works good.
We've had some use a variation of this stripper, if your good with making stuff you should not have any trouble making one.
I'll bet one could even be made using 1" plywood instead of alum. Lay the cable down in the groove and pull.
Nothing but a money maker there.
