Steel banding

Today I found a place that will give me all the steel banding that they get. This banding is thin so it can easly be cut with tin snips. They already have a 55 gallon drum full. I know it takes alot to make any weight, and alot of work. But since I don't have a truck or trailor, This stuff will be perfect to cut to fit in 5 gallon buckets. I can fill up the back end of my van. Something to work on this winter I guess. Since I usually take in just aluminum and copper, this will be a nice to add.

Good deal. Like you said, it takes a lot for any substantial amount of weight. I was getting quite a bit of saw band blades from wood mills. Wound up being a lot of hassle for what it was worth - not to mention stabbing my hands.

I agree, thats alot of work.. and how are you going to get all the banding home? unless they let you cut it up on there property..

I can cut it in half there if I wish. It's in there shipping department, and my father is the shipping manager. I guess I cut cut it any size. they have a steady amount. So I might try it until spring and if it's a hassel just stop.
