I got a call from someone yesterday to pick up some copper pipe that he had dug up in his yard when he built his house. He was told it was not in use and it wasn't a problem to dig it up. The guy told me it was at least 750 ft or more and most of it was already broken up into sections. So i'm all jacked up at work today waiting to get out and pick up my load of pre cut copper as I had a little time in between my job and the wifes to do the pick up. So I pull up and chat with the man who is a very nice guy and after a few minutes he points me to the pile, like i didn't see it the first second I arrived, and says it's all yours. Me being in a bit of a rush loads the truck with lightning speed only seeing the wonderfull green patina and flys home with only seconds to spare before my wife leaves. I go outside a little while ago to thuroughly inspect my new treasure only to find out.....
I was let down for about 5 seconds until I realized there was still close to a thousand pounds of brass! This stuff is quite thick and it is adding up fast about 150 lbs per 100 ft. of pipe. It was not the copper I was daydreaming about all day but i'm not complaining and neither will the wife with my last minute apperance to her all stressed out about being late. Can't wait to tell her when she gets home that the vacation we have been planning on is getting a lot closer now!
