A scrapper isnt always taking it to the yard,Sometimes its saving it from the yard!

A friend and I went in halves on this $300 1963 chevy c10 that we are parting out instead of scrapping!was a running and driving truck owner tore it apart to restore but situations in life changed and we were there to save it! no plans on keeping this one to build like my other truck solely bought as a business venture....most of the smaller parts will be sold in my ebay store, larger parts on the local craigslist.

with help from some friends we got the cab and bed set back on the frame:

gas tank easy $50-75 bill right there:

super solid rust free hood-$150-$200,inner fenders $30 each,hood hinges $50,turn signal lights$20-$30 on ebay,radiator core support $50:


non cracked warp around windshield $175, carpet ill keep for my truck:


on these trucks the fenders always rust out, these are super solid and sell for $150 each all day long, having a guy come pick them up this weekend hopefully:

drive shaft(other piece still attached to rear end) $20-$30


grill with headlight buckets easy $75, grill panel $50:


engine and trans, looking up head numbers still and going to pull the oil pan to see if its a 4 bolt main, if the trans is the one with granny gear 4x4s buy them on craigslist for $100 no problem:


heater box and heater core,fan and misc panels $20:

$200 for the bed:




$150 for the cab:


$100 for the chrome bumper:


atleast a $100 in parts in side the cab, handles gauge cluster, ash tray, glove box insert and door:


doors with good glass $75 each, front and rear suspension $250,trailing arms $50, frame will go to scrap yard, list goes on and on of parts and prices, sometimes it pays to save them and know what to look for if you have time and space to store the parts, I know it might be harder for some people to get rid of parts due to there area, but i live in old car central and have alot of the parts already sold without even posting a add on craigslist or ebay, just by word of mouth and facebook post and i picked the truck up last sunday...

Well, first off i'll say that i dont do any automotive type scrapping/salvage. But, this post was well prepared, great photos and interesting detail on parts, pricing and plans to make $$. I read every blurb and looked at all the pictures in spite of the fact that the subject is not something i bother with much. Well done! Hope you make a bucket of cash on it and do more with your partner soon.

congrats and good job, we saved a 65 short bed ford, sold it for less than scrap just to keep from scrapping her

hmm. the back trim is what makes that price but thats the one you rarely find. i think someone was trying to repop it if i recall correctly. im on the truck forum alot since i have a 63.

Rust free cabs and beds when trucked in from Cali to Indy will bring an easy $1000 or more each. When I completely part out a vintage vehicle (car or truck), I usually hang on to the title and any matching vin tags, as there are always buyers looking for specific 'historic documents' with tags. I also like the big block 390 fender emblems, as they would look right at home on my '64 Ford w/390.
