    1800 Pounds the other day

    Few days ago i took in 1800 lbs of engine parts etc, never hauled anything more then 650 lbs in the back of the truck. was not near as bad as i thought. i have a 04 silverado 1500 v6 4.3 vortec. got 11 cents a pound. and had some motors with iron hanging off got 14 cents and they call it melt, 35 cents for straight motors. came out to right under $200 for the iron and $37 for the melt/motors. Hope to have more days like this and thanks for reading.

    Welcome to the 1,500+ Lbs club. Watch the payload capacity for your truck tho, ya don't wanna break a spring.

    I've successfully hauled over 2k in the back of a. 3/4 ton, main thing to do when servely overloaded is keep your speed to a minuim.
    Alvord iron and salvage
    3rd generation scrapper and dam proud of it

    we get .20 cents a lb for straight motors here in canada.

    my 93 ranger is a 3/4 ton, actually just a bit more(1650 is the rated payload), yours might be too

    Possibly, I no longer own it, I sold it before I moved. I do know that it was a work horse, even drove it for 2-3 months with a BAD oil pump.

    is you have to overload try to load all the heavy stuff close to the cab ... --- just a heads up ___

    I might be at the top of the list 2400lbs in a chevy 1500 with the 4.3L V6 1993, so just a heads up gentlemen scrapper

    I had most of the weight up near the cab and or on the right side of the vehicle to help balance out weight.

    If you regularly overload a half ton truck... you're gonna have a bad time, haha.

    I know if you put 2100lb in a 71 f100 it will drag the ground. A 1979 f350 will haul 6700lbs pretty easily though lol. I have saw many guys hauling 3k lbs in late model 1/2 tons

    ok, now - the car in the truck I can see being dangerous but the van looked pretty secure so why was that one illegal?

    Back on topic, I had one ton in my truck 2 years ago, my brothers HUGE toolboxes full of tools and my back end was eating rubber and my tires were almost flat. I have a 1/2 ton Sierra, it popped the rear seals.

    ok, now - the car in the truck I can see being dangerous but the van looked pretty secure so why was that one illegal?
    Well, for one it was the same guy with no license with a different friends truck, (and probably got it impounded also)
    Also, we discussed it back then and thought that maybe there was a windshield in the van when it started out on it's journey.
