    First demanding ebayer!

So today I experienced my first demanding ebayer.

Some guy (judging by screen name) emailed me to ask if the phone worked (when the description that you see when viewing the other listings, clearly said "no back, battery, or charger"

So I explained all of this to him. Then he his like "man, go buy a battery and see if it will turn on if you can, and what you want for it. I really, really need this phone"

I politely told him that isn't how I do things. Majority of what I see is as is condition. Unless I can get the parts for cheap and make it work.

The battery and charger from what the cell company told me would be over $60. Not to mention that I already have 6 bids on this phone right now.

I told him that if I did all of that, and it worked, it would be sold for the same price as the rest of the used, which is over $200.

My knee jerk reaction to your interaction with this person would be to NOT sell them the phone. If this guy was the winner I'd cancel the transaction. He's going to get it and the problems are going to start, dealing with people like this is a losing venture on ebay.

I agree. Block him from bidding on your items.

Yes, I agree. I have done the ebaying thing and no more. Maybe if there were more honest people out there, I would do more, but there is not. Plus half the people on ebay can't read descriptions, and the ones that try, don't understand.

He is blocked. Just like the guy who wanted me to ship to singapore.

Clearly says on the ad, no international shipping.

I think this is why I might be talking to a buddy who does the ebay trade assistant thing. I don't have the time, patience or enough alcohol to deal with the people on ebay.

I delt with enough crappy attitudes in the past in regards to ebay/retail/etc. Just not worth the hassle for me. I'll be making the wife sell stuff for me, or my buddy who does the ebay trade assistant thing. Its worth the money to save me the aggravation of dealing with idiots. lol.

HA! Burly..I didn't say no aggravation at all...I just choose to limit it. LOL. An not dealing with eBay anymore does help a lot in that category.

Besides..I'm married, so any aggravation I avoid during the day, I get from the wife just to let me know she cares. :P

The traveling cooler also helps to keep aggravation levels to a low. Unless its empty, then I'm just miserable.

Sirscrapalot - Cure to aggravation 1. Grab a cooler and chair 2. Head to beach 3. Plant chair and feet in sand. 4. Open cooler. 5. Watch the scenery stroll, run, walk, fly, crawl, etc on by. 6. Post to facebook and piss off all your friends who don't live close enough to a beach to follow steps 1 -5.

And this is why I offer to pay more than scrap for a lot of stuff. So you all don't have to deal with the ebay idiots. I treat it like a game myself. I had one guy buy a laptop from me that I installed xp on and when he got it he then installed some of his own software on it and crashed the OS. He then asked me to send him a restore disk. Long story short he tried to extort me for a return or he would leave negative feedback. So not only did I not take the return I got his negative feedback removed. OK not so short. Then he filed a claim with paypal as item not as described and then lost that claim too because he admitted it worked until he installed stuff on it. Took almost 2 weeks while paypal held my funds but the satisfaction that I as a seller won the case was awesome.

Oh PTS...I'll be sending you a bunch of Hard Drives, dont you worry my friend. lol. Now if I could find someone that buys 3.5 drives I'd be good..I've got a few on a couple units I got in on friday, and dude left me about 25 in a case. Some even still in their bags from when shipped. Ha!

Anyways, yea..eBay..frustrating, and aggravating..I leave it to you fine folks with more patience then myself. Anyone wants to be my trade assistant..send me a pm!

I thought about doing this for some people who keep asking me about ebay. Then I think about the possible hassles behind it, and wonder if I really want to lol.

    I wonder what assistants make.

an assistant is probably cheaper than the alcohol required to deal with ebay myself

how many do you assist for?

do you have them keep the merchandise or do you have them give it to you from the beginning?

Most trading assistants go out of business quickly. The ones that stay only sell items for more than a couple hundred bucks.

    Been there, done that.
