If only I knew I would be into scrap

Like the title says . For now and the price of metal seems to stay high & for now I see I can find product and build up a surplus of scrap like a bank account in a sense, some times the stash is easy pickings and some is there, but you know you need a day for it.

I need not live near people as building stock needs privacy.

Now I see another thing I wish I had, a trailer to hold 2000 to 4000 pounds and a small economical car to pull it. since I see I can do fine with a car that holds 1200 at a time a trailer holding 3000 pounds would be no big thing for a economy car. The fuel economy would exceed my current 18 mpg and would be best for the hunt . It would be like making more money. I spent 10 to 15 a day and thats not to bad . but a Jetta and similar probably be $5 a day.

Volkswagon also made a diesel pickup at one time, or how about one of the diesel VW vans??

I don't know if you get better mpg with a diesel or not, but I do know that diesel fuil is alot more expensive than reg. gas at least in my area. If you could get a small truck that gets about 25-30 mpg that would help.

I rode with a guy one time that had one of those small diesels and it took him about 2 mile to get wound up to road speed.

They are slow , I have a cargo van & a chev mini . the cargo could hold 5000 and you can drive with out really feeling it. the mini 1200 and a short time & slow careful driving @ 2000 .

Trailers that hold 2000 are not hard to find . I feel just about any small car can handle that . Just a thought .
