    Not much happening.

Not finding a lot as of late. The maintinece guys at work gave me a couple monitors, had to work the regular job this a.m. So i acquired my first flat screen monitor, got most of it torn down while i was at work.Got some boards, printers monitors, to work on around the house, and three sacks full of electric knifes. I wish i could do more, but we have been working a lot of OT ,and catching a lot of fish, just aint enough hours in the week to get everything done. im trying to get everything done up and haul a real good load about the middle of June.

I wouldt feel so bad about the OT if it really seemed like it was need,But what has happened the powers that be have cut the workforce to record low numbers, cut there pay ,then wonder why they cant get more product out the door.

be thankful for what you have, most fresh college grads arnt getting jobs right now, 50% of the workforce is either unemployed or underemployed, my advice is work as much as you can while you still have a job because you never know when the next round of cuts will happen
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com

boy you're not kidding - I'm out scrapping to pay college loans for my son who still hasn't been able to get a job in the field he graduated in! Hubby just got back to work after 10 months off for far less than he made before. I'm busting butt just to help keep afloat!!

OP, don't feel bad, tonight was pretty pathetic for me too as far as drive by scrapping goes

Thank goodness for all my connections or I'd be out of luck with so much competition and folks just not tossing stuff away lately.

i mean this nicely you know why most college grads are unemployed underemployed because they all major in the same thing and there was no work for it to begin with.

i"ve been putting ads on cl and in the paper for workers and can"T get anybody even with will train no exp neccessary it"s amazing how few if any responses come in.

i really beleive most kids take crimnal justice and psychology so they can sit on there ass the rest of ther lives then wonder why there are no jobs in their field. imho opinion college is a waste of $$$ learn a trade and you"ll always have work. but then again what do i know i"ve never been unemployed 1 day since 16

I'm starting to get old.. so I can weigh in. I graduated from Business School in 1998 with a B.S. In Marketing. I spent 10+ years in corporate marketing.. When cuts just kept coming in company after company.. I did whatever I had to in order to get by. With a Degree I have:
    Scrubbed Toilets
    Washed BMW's
    DJ'd
Stocked Shelves at a Grocery Store
    Booked Trucks for Uhaul
Parked Cars at the Rental Lot at the Airport
Screwed Screws into Alpine Radios on an assembly line
Packaged Pharmaceuticals on a gastly 12 hour night shift

I did it not because I wanted too, I did it because I wanted to keep my money set-back at a certain level and at times my family needed me to do so! Am I ashamed I've had to do all these things with a degree? Nope. Because in the end- anyone who gives you crap for working hard at a job (Any Job) that may be "beneath you" isn't going to pay your mortgage, college loan or light bill!

Seize opportunity at every corner of your life.. see metal sitting on the road- that is dollars
See someone selling something for $100 that you know is worth $400- Buy it and turn it.

    Just my .25 :-)
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

Yeah crazy thing around here we had the Vocational tech school, for years they taught Welding,Nursing,Auto and Diesal mechanics, all jobs that people could get a job with and still live in the area, several years ago it became a community college,no auto no Diesal,The majority of the kids who attend, get there two years in then go out of town to finish the next two years, and never come back except to visit at christmas, cause theres not that much need for the fields they offer degrees in.not here anyway.
