Last one I did I got over 30 pounds of red brass from the heating part with the fine. Kinda looked like a/c coil just a lot bigger.

Thanks Copperhead, never new about restaurant ice makers. I just thought, too much syrofoam in it to bother.

Too take apart a pool heater, you just need 5/16 bit in your drill and wire cutters to cut the wires.
Undo every screw you see and it will come apart easily.
Once you've done a few, you'll know which ones to undo.
However, taking the cast off the copper is a different issue.
You can beat it with sledge but we prefer chop saw.
    Sawzall works great also.

First I need to find one & since it is cold here - compared to any place 300 miles south west east .
There should be some floating around , but I think solar heaters are the thing with home owners .
Hotels here don't have out door pools these parts , heated pools in your town are the thing
    ---------------------
Ice maker plate is exposed with miscellaneous water feed gadgets around it
    the plate is often 2.5 ft by 2.5 @ 20 #
I have found 3 to bad i sold the copper those were worth saving as to ease of storage
there like a big Ingot, a definite E bay seller
    ---------------------
Another hidden copper treasure - some cast iron boilers
have wound copper that looks the same as pool heater just in a coil
