What gets me is this guy is willing to give you $12k in merchandise so it can get gone and he can rent the unit for $200/mo. My calculator doesn't do that kind of math...

Any one of us that hits the curbs can tell you that some people just don't care what they throw away.

Not to cause argument but I have had people call me to remove items with value because they
1- did not want to mess with it.
2- did not want to get dirty.
    3- did not have time.
    4- several other lame excuses

    add to that:
-they dont know that its relatively simple to make a few bucks out of the stuff they are throwing away

Then there's a chance of some idiot trying to dispute a transaction that just makes it not worth my while. I found out a long time ago the key to a successful business is turning revenue with the least amount of energy in the shortest time possible with as few people involved as necessary. EBay breaks all those rules..
This may be true regarding Ebay but I have turned to many $5 dollar scrap purchases into hundreds via Ebay.........It is scary at first but once you get the hang of it the money is good and the whole process is addicting as well as frustrating LOL

I agree. It is easier to just sell everything as scrap and avoid resale.

I find that a combination of national sales and local sales it the sweet spot, dont be afraid to ship nationwide to get the best prices. Odds are your going to be shipping your scrap nationwide reguardless.

The math works when you look at it differently. Say its gonna take 3 years to move all that inventory and your gonna net 4k in returns due to overhead costs and lost value of merchandise over time (cell phones dont stay current for very long). The rental will yield $7,200 over 3 years.

Also the 12k in merchandise that the storage guy owns because the unit wasnt paid for so he just gave it to you for free is now a 12k loss that may be tax deductible.

This deal is a win-win for both parties.

Plus the fact that it's not 12K in merchandise now as he states that a lot of them are donor units with pieces missing.
Did a little sorting today and seems a lot of the Higher end phones are organ donors ,Screens and Batteries ,

yea thats what i was assuming from the beginning as soon i heard cell phones, seems like a better phone is coming out every week, that stuff has little value if its been stored very long

it is still an awesome score considering that it was free
