You'll know if you don't try. All it will cost is a little time and may pay BIG dividends. I would go for it.

You will get MUCH faster as you tear down the same thing over and over.

sort the boxes into piles of similar ones.

donations of working equipment help when tax time comes

like cory said the more you process the faster you get at it, i am at 5 minutes on stripping crt's now, i used to take about 15 minutes to tear them all the way down, then i realized that i can get 90% of the copper out in 5 minutes by skipping a few steps, time is money

Agreed....I have been giving away Crt's as I have over 300 of them in various storage buildings but am tired of giving away money so I started this weekend on the huge project.....I am stripping the main parts and moving on to the next one......Wish me luck!

yeah I know about crt's I still take monitors but I don't take tvs anymore. no room to store them .the monitors I strip them out and put the plastic cover back on and take them to the local landfill for free .basicly with monitors and printers I wait till I have a large pile and spend 1 day tearing them down .

The other day I found this to be the truth. I got like 64 Sat Boxes all on trip from a friend-of-a-friend who used to reasale them. It didn't take very long to realize that some have phillips, some have torx, some use nuts and the quickest way to do them was to first sort them out by brand name so that I could avoid changing my driver bits and socket sizes. Even with quick change bits it still takes time and without having to go back and forth, back and forth I got SUPER quick!

    To the OP, congratulations Sir!!!
