    another record day for me

so this days haul started yesturday, which wasnt the best day I've had. anyway I picked up a suburban yesturday from a guy about an hour away. he suggested a flat bed to move it and was concerned when I showed up with a trailer. this is my second car without all four wheels so I had a better idea of how things should go. jacked it up backed under it, moved jacks onto trailer then backed up until I hit the front wheels. now came the fun put using two come-a-longs me and my buddy started winching it up. after a lot of sweat and careful maneuvers we had it up and ready to strap down. needless to say the guy was impressed, he didn't even think we would come close to getting it on there. then my friend told him we were only 17 and I can only imagine the look on his face. we started the trek home and I was very pleased with how well my 2500 pulled, even without tow haul. so today we brought it to the yard and my heaviest haul record was shattered 14460 today 11700 previous, also most made in one haul 401 beating the old 250. after today my friend is hooked and we are searching for the next load, would very much like to do more cars.

Haha! I'm 17 too, you're doing it on bigger scale then I am. I wish I had your truck lol. I have a little 1500 stepside. That's not a Duramax is it? A 6.0 right?

What kind of Gas mileage you get with it, sorry for going off topic. Its a good haul for someone my age, I wouldn't think of trying to scrap a car right now especially a full size surburban. Nice work!

My guess would be about 4500

I hope if nothing else, he at least cuts the cats and sells them separate

Those barn doors sell REAL nice in this are on Craigs if there is minimum to no rust on the bottom edges

you will learn it will take a very very expensive winch to load cars that have no wheels or are locked up.i had a 3000 dollar warn electric winch once .it was rated really high and even after i doubled it with pulleys and snatch blocks it would only assist my trusty hand powered come along.it was very handy in assisting though.especialy when i had to let it loose and get another bite.no more chaining, chalking then repeating.they work great for cars with wheels.im not sure what they are called but keep your eyes open for a large winch spool with heavy cable and a large flywheel attached to it.the flywheel is almost as big as a 15 inch car tire.i had a winch like this and let it go when i traded up to a better trailor not knowing id never find another one.it worked on anything.something would always give befor it.anyhow i hope this helps.pleas dont spend money on the 99.99 wallmart/lowes winches the weight they are rated for should say rolling weight in my opinion

Good job! If you don't mind me asking how much $ did you get off of this? I haven't been doing cars/trucks, but was thinking about it.
You can make money 2 ways.

A 300$ 9000# hf winch will serve you well, trust me I use one. No tires, flat tires, missing differental or even upside down has not been a problem with this winch. And I would opt for wireless remote, another 25$, and it turns loading a car into a smooth one man operation, just sit in the car and winch it on while you steer it as well. I've winch several pickups on minus the rear differental with out any problems, loading front end first.
