Want some input and feedback on the website I'm making for recycling!

Hey guys! I would like some input on my website that I am making for Scrap metal, e-waste and junk recycling. Basically, anything that would be bad to have, any errors and or big mistakes I may have made, and basically in general terms if it sucks, if its good, if it needs alot of work and so on. I'm wanting to service a big portion of my state with my services, I'm going to offer the usual scrap metal pickup with charging fees for pick ups over 20 to 25 miles, for buying e-waste and over 25 miles gas and time cost is deducted from the final buying price to the client, and I'm going to be junk recycling, in which Left over Yard Sale clean outs, Big projection tvs, construction debris, and many other things, I will not be doing clean outs as I'm not insured, I will require all junk recycling items outside to be removed to cover my butt. I'm going to be offering a FAQ page, a Customer support chat kind of what E-wasted has on his website, I'm going to be having a feedback comment app where customers can leave feedback on services.

I've been thinking hard about this and I'm still brainstorming a lot of this.

Main things I want to get on there is Free pick up areas (locations within 10 miles of me), E-waste buying price list, scrap metal items that I take, E-waste items that I take, about us page, and many other things to help me stand out.

I've been searching and to my current knowledge I am the only E-waste recycler in my area, and surrounding areas except for rob who is 70 miles west of me.

Right now I'm not done with the whole website, I am still in the building process but I have most of the home page done, I might change a couple little things but it's mostly done. I haven't started on any other pages yet.

I am using wix.com for my website.

Here's a link to the website.

    Central Penn Recycling

I will update this thread as I add things to the website for further input and feedback.

Your blurb on the side could be worded better. I know your still working on it tho....

The blurb I refer to is the one that is under the heading "Earth Friendly". Reads rather funny to me.

An..when I clicked on your other pages..I must say I had a good chuckle at the 'I'm a title click here to edit me" and others. Under construction I know but still gave me a nice chuckle.

I like it so far, can't wait to see what it looks like when your done with it.

Sirscrapalot - Easily amused over things like.."I'ma title, click here to edit me".

Looks nice and clean... on page one lol. I like the theme and what not. Biggest thing I would say... Get rid of the ads. 10 bucks a month can do wonders. Free sites with ads irritate me. Maybe I'm just irritable....

Yeah that Earth Friendly was there with the main theme that I editted, I just thought to keep it there until I found something better to put there.
Yeah wix thinks the people using their site are pretty incompetent so therefore they have to explain what to do lol.

Yeah, when I actually publish the site its going to be on its own domain and its going to be ad-free.

    Thanks for the input!

Alright, I just finished the scrap metal recycling page, try to find a bug and or try to break it lol, if you think I should add something or remove something please tell me. I want all the feedback I can get so I don't look like a numskull when people are looking at it wanting to schedule a pickup. Thanks, I'm going to be working on the Ewaste section and then Junk recycling.

people like to see people. I suggest getting a photo of you standing in front of your truck, or loading a computer into your truck, or something like that. show yourself to be smiling, clean, well dressed & presentable in the photo. then put it in place of the large greenwashing graphic.

under the last sentence "We are located in Central Pennsylvania and can travel anywhere! "

    put:

I look forward to serving you...

    Sincerely,
    Your Name

The page is bright and informative, the thing i would change is the 25.00 gas fee.I would wave that fee for Industrial, institutional, corporate high volume clients, now figure out how to word it,just my two cents looking good.

Yeah but if someone lets say Idk like 30 35 miles away from me has a dryer. It wouldn't be worth it to pick it up for free, should I just send in the email that you're gunna have to pay for our time for this? And just delete the gas charge right off the website?

you could do this with a map with a circle showing your free service area; pick ups beyond this may require a service fee. Please call for quote.

websites are a pain - I work on a site every day. Yours is coming along nicely, and I applaud your efforts.

Thanks Volvo, I am not the average scrapper, I'm pretty technical cause, I used to play computer and xbox a lot before I could drive, and I'm going to school for electronics aswell. I also run a gaming forum website so I knew to use wix because I used them in the past.

I just did the E-waste section. Can one you guys do me a favor and fill out the submission forms for scrap metal and electronics? You don't have to write everything out just put something in every field so I can see how it will look in my email, you can just put one letter in each question if you want.

Please let me know of any bugs you find and or errors, tell me what you think please, be honest if it sucks let me know lolz.

Hey! in general your site looks great, colors are in keeping with the theme and the pictures are good at the bottom and un-pretentious!! the middle one doesn't look great because the quality isn't as good as the two on either side. Putting your contact details at the top right hand side of the site is best practice too. but in general excellent site my friend, you will do well because you ask for help and aren't afraid to ask!

I need some help with FAQ questions, I have written down in my notebook the most basic ones but I know I'm forgetting some and can't think of them right now. If you have any suggestions of questions, please let me know.
