    Speaking for myself, I don't break the tubes fully nor toss'm in the trash. When I was getting those kind that were plastered/cemented/whatever that crap is that sticks them to it...I would just break the part with the yoke attached. Nowadays I just ignore that **** yoke and grab the board an wires, an drop the sucker off at my recycle center. When I did have to break that one part, I would smash it up as BC said in a blanket or on a piece of cardboard, pluck out my copper and put the glass back in the tube, an again drop it off at my recycle center.

    I always felt bad doing it. I'd never smash an entire tube. I'd rather lose the money then smash an entire tube.

    One could call me a jerk for how I handled it I guess, but eh..I've been called worse.
