    That's a nice rig. I've often considered doing the same but brakes are super expensive to work on, especially old fords, trust me I've worked on many of them. Nothing else, except for maybe tires, is terribly expensive to work on with them old 2 tons.

    PCS, I understand your thoughts about wind resistance, but it most likely won't make a difference in mileage. My old F600 gets the same 6mpg loaded or empty. My biggest fear is having something come loose and go through a windshield. To many "bottom feeder" lawyers just waiting for a chance like that. Solid sides and a top tarp are the best insurance against, oh, and did I mention a $2,000,000 liability insurance policy. Not that much more than minimum coverage and well worth it for the peace of mind. JMHO

    Bear is right, it won't take much to snap those wood stakes and the whole load goes falling to the ground. It would be better if you had steel stakes bolted the wood panels.
