Took a couple of loads in the back of a 1979 El Camino, to local yard, only 2miles from my house.
#2 copper: 73lbs @ 2.10/lb = $153
Cast Alum: 60lbs @ .50/lb = $ 30
Yel brass : 15lbs @ 1.40/lb = $ 21
Elec motor: 19lbs @ .27/lb = $ 5+
Sheet Alum: 24lbs @ .40/lb = $ 9+
ICW#2 50>55 40lbs @ .95/lb = $ 38
Total: $257.03
Calif CRV
#1 Pet Plastic 60lbs @ $1.07/lb $65.27
Alum cans 15lbs @ $1.88/lb $28.20
Total: $93.47
Happy and profitable scrapping to all :-)

the 50 to 55% is how they visually grade the amount of copper wire versus the amount of insulation.
I'm guessing that most of the 40# was mainly printer and monitor cables, that I cut the connectors off of, then strip the outer insulation. On top of the pile in the bucket, I had the #14 insulated.
A few bottles of ice cold water to the weigh master (nice guy), did the trick

Another thing you can do with your scrap money is every time you go cash out at the scrap yard, go buy a role of quarters. Instead of smoking it up, save your health and some money. scrappy 888 ,i never saw a $1.88 a lb of Alum can, the best i ever saw was$ 0.65 a lb.
How do you get this much, it is a CAN return program in Minneapolis ?

i tried toquit smoking a few years ago by chewing snuff.so now i soke a few less cigs a day but i chew a can of snuff each day also.i dont recomend this method for stopping smoking at all

Gino, that was NewbyScrapper that posted that and he/she's from Northern California and we all know that Cal has the deposit fee on cans.
All of his prices were good except for that one too, I get $2.00 a pound up here in Chico, CA
