That's awesome. Make sure to buy the woman keeping her eyes open for you something nice, some high-end fudge or an edible arrangement generally go over well with the fairer sex.
At my jobsite I have a double pull 50 Amp Breaker- We run the Stoves off double 50's but the plug itself is different. I may just swap out the plug on the apartment, test it and rewire the stove plug back.. Problem solved.. Off to find a plug in! Whoot!

I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
Sledge42: can't see any way for me to send you a pm. I'd be happy to give you info on the kettle, we repair them all the time. I'm not interested in buying it, so no worries about that.
I forgot, I think you have to have 10 posts before you can send PM's. My info is on this link.. give me a call when you get a chance.

Ok gents... I know this is the moment you have all been waiting for.. sorry it took so long.. But I have results of the testing and the final numbers on this "Fudge Machine"
I got a hold of a 250V plug on a double 50 Amp Breaker and plugged her in. I held my breath and crossed my fingers hoping that it would run like a champ.. sadly.. it did not!
It had power to it but had two distinct issues/flaws:
1. Bowl would turn on and the "On" light would light up.. but it made a REALLY LOUD BUZZ.
2. When you turned on the "Motor Control Switch" the motor would hum.. but it would not turn the belt to make the agitator go.. so the motor was indeed locked up.
I ended up calling the lady back that had initially helped me over the phone.. I told her what it was doing and that I wanted to see if she had a source for me to "move this thing down the road!" She did indeed have a contact at a Used Restaurant Supply store that was not far from her business (I imagine he could get parts from her ;-) So I called the guy up.. he said "Bring it in.. I will most likely be interested in it"
I drove up to Indy and judging from this woman and my conversation.. even with it shot- I should still bring home a decent chunk o' change. The guy takes a look, I explain all of its known issues and he says "I'll give ya $150 for it" I have to say I nearly crapped.. My mind was saying it was worth a lot more.. then my reality kicked in.. And the reality is this:
This is not my niche, I'm not going to part the thing out hoping someone needs a handle or a switch.. I got it for free, took about an hour to clean it up.. and if I don't strike a deal- I gotta lug this broken 200 lb paperweight back home" I counter and say "Will you go to $200 bucks" He hims and haws for a second and says "Yeah.. I'll do $200"
Not the homerun I was shooting for- but at the end of the day- $200 bucks off a freebie, and a non-functioning freebie at that- I feel was not too darn bad!
I appreciate all of you guys with your suggestions and replies.. your interest in the "Ol Fudge Machine!" Definately a new one for me-- but did much better than scrap rate!! So this is the Fudgey End to the Story!
awwwwwwwww mannnnnnnnnnnnn I was hopin ya was going to do like a Fudge42flavor cart at the SMF Convention! sighhhh
BroJer:
If this thing did fire up... I would have ATTEMPTED to make a batch.. You guys may have ralphed but I would have given it a shot!! :-)
Bringing it back from the dead:
Just got a call from a guy in Baton Rouge LA, asking if I still had this.. Tried to track down where I sold the darn thing too.. didn't have the info.. but gave him the name of the place who recommended me to the restaurant equipment place.. Hopefully he finds them and they still have the Fudge Machine!
HA!
I got excited reading this thread.....until you sold it and crushed all our fudge making dreams
