NICE!
I had a nice score at a garage sale last weekend. Picked up a Japanese army WWII type 92 radio for $10. Built into a nice wooden box with brass, hand crank, etc. Maybe one day i'll have the time to post a photo, if I don't sell it on ebay first
To respond to that remark, I do CW and own a morse key like that one, I know that the radios are worth far more that scrap, today is my birthday, I am 60 so I am in fact old. Thanks for pointing that fact out to the entire forum. 73, Mike (73 is ham radio speak for "best wishes")
ps. eham.net is a great site to look into selling those items and well and information on ham radio. Mike ke4ilg

Happy birthday, and many more.
Your not really old, your just getting good for a fine wine,,,
HAPPY B-DAY MIKED!!!
Got my 11 meter license WAYYYYYYY back when there was such a thing and there were only 23 on the dial. First base was a Johnson white face. Always had some kind of rig setup, talkin DX on the flat side, on a Galaxy Saturn, D 104, Maverick 250 in the late 90's. More kids, more work, less radios, had to part with a lot of my hobbies.
Went back to classes about 05, wanting to get back in radios and get my ticket. then more life happened.
So, when I went to PU a load of computers, and the floor of the elevator was covered in old radio equipment, I stated yelling CQDXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX anybody gotta copy on Unit 929 in the buckeye??? These folks have known me better than a quarter of a century...thought I had finally lost it.
The equipment has been sitting a long time. A drop ceiling tile had gotten wet and fell on top of it. So, I will wipe it all off and set it in the corner for now. I promise, Miked, I am not putting power to any of it, until I can get some other eyes on it!!!
73s... Ole Moses, off the key, an standinggggggg byyyyyyy
Not to steal this thread but the exam for getting all levels of ham radio licenses no longer requires Morse code in anyway. All the info is available at eham.net or ARRL.org
Thanks for the birthday wishes and happy Independence Day to all, Mike.
Yea, has me thinking about it again! Believe it was 06-07 (?) when they dropped that requirement. There is a pretty strong club in the area. May have to check them out.
This all came out of a private school. I asked them a few years ago to start looking in the deep, dark, bowels, of the facility. Wish they had. Nobody has been in the room, where it was all stored, for over a year. Up until then, this all would have been in immaculate shape! (sigh)
And...it is your B-day! HIJACK AWAY!!
Happy Birthday MikeD...Next Makers Mark is on me.

Holy DX God. That TR4A (no, not the British sports car ) sold for $5 shy of $1000 when new. Secondhand Radio.com has a used one for $ $875 !
If all that gear is in working condition, who have a huge score, WTG.
