Poison Ivy

Sigh. so, I loaded up 974 lbs of scrap metal from the top of dads property Wednesday which included a pile of mesh that had poison ivy growing up through it.

I'm wearing gloves, not a problem right?

Wrong. Woke up this morning and my arms are covered in rash. Sweating in this heat sure doesn't help it feel any better either thats for sure.

I never touched the ivy with my bare hands. I threw the gloves I wore to load it up away and used new ones to unload it.

This stuff is growing everywhere around his property in the woods and I've pulled it out of trees before with noooooo problem.

Yeah, like that's gonna happen lol. **** pallets can stay there forever far as I'm concerned and finish rotting where they lay.

I used to be really allergic to it. I could be around it and get it. Had it so bad on my face one. It shut my right eye. Very very annoying to deal with.

I used to be allergic to it as a kid, I could catch it just by walking by. Several times I had the issue of closed eyes..gah. Oddly as I've gotten older I've become less allergic to it. Weird. But yea..it sucks.

Around here im surrounded by forest. As a kid we built forts in the woods and I have gotten posion ivy so many times back in the day it doesent affect me anymore. Nice to be able to pull it out and not get it.
One trick after you touch it is to rinse it off with running water for about 30 seconds and then use dish detergant to wash it off.

I get it so bad the only thing that helps is a dose of the steroids from the doctor
That knocks it right out
