Ha! There is a guy on my local CL list who does this..posts his ad weekly sometimes even daily, buying old stereo/radios, an fishing gear.
So one day I emailed him, cause I had this really old stereo, and I didn't want to scrap it, so figured..hey..15 or 20 bucks would be better then what I'd get breaking it down, etc. Same with some fishing gear I had lying around from a pick up. Emailed him. No reply. Emailed again..no reply. I emailed that fool weekly just to see if I could get a reply. Nothing. To this day I've never gotten a reply, yet he still posts he's looking for this stuff.
I mean ****, lest email an tell me to go jump off a cliff or something, or a "Hey not interested, but thanks!"..buncha buttheads! This an all the posts above are why I just scrap most the stuff I get unless I can help someone on here, or by spreading the word locally. Spreading the word seems to work best for me, I get more sales by telling my network what I have at the time, an my current prices. Now an then I get a bite, an if not..off it goes!
I'm a scrapper, not a sales man. This thread is why I don't deal with
eBay, or waste anymore time with CL. Yes I'm losing out on more money, but hey if folks aren't going to reply, or be a dumb ass about it, I'll just take my money/item an move on. Somethings I do hold on to though..like the elliptical, flat screen monitors I have(slowly but surely those are all starting to go now!), an a few other things I'm saving for the winter when a buddy's wife will be doing some ebay sales for me.
I don't suffer fools, what patience I had for such things I lost after doing retail for 20 years. LOL.
