Hey! I resemble your Cancun beach scrapper. An no I don't live in the Bahamas, their several hundred miles south of me. Bermuda is closer. I'm also on a sandbar two miles out into the ocean, so no pretending for me. An yea..I take things apart in no shirt an while in shorts when in my shop here at the house sometimes, or loading/unloading the van also at the house. I'm crazy or lucky I guess, maybe both. Might be also cause I don't deal with torching, chemicals, or any of that other nasty stuff one needs higher safety precautions to deal with.
An sorry, I'll continue to run my
ewaste/scrap business. Even tho I break things down at home with no shirt an in shorts at times.
If it helps anyone sleep better at night, I do always wear the boots when in my shop or moving scrap. Heavy items suck when they land on your feet. I also wear gloves most of the time. ( though it doesn't stop that infernal chisel from nicking me now an then through them.) I work with hand tools, an my drill, and that's it for the most part. Lucky me!
Yes, one should know safety, but its not all cut n' dry.
Not being a jerk, just trying to point out we don't all fit in the same safety category. Guess I'm just a round peg not trying to be shoved into a square hole.
