    Nice pick up

So about a week ago I picked up a freezer from my Uncle. Then he calls today and he has a new neighbor and the previous owner left a bunch of junk. So we get there and start loading up the pile and the lady is outside and is still finding junk. Great! We finish loading the pile (which included copper pipe, wire, sheets of extruded and much more). I give her a flyer and then she gives me 2 batteries and a computer monitor. But 1 thing I am unsure about is this exhaust from a motorcycle and I can't tell if it has a converter or if it it just a muffler. Will try to post a pic. Also removed some propane tanks for her as a favor. Just open up the valve unscrew the top, right? Anyways, sorry for the novel

I have a thread over this that I posted a few months back:

    http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/scrap...etal-gold.html

I ended up selling them for shred. My scrap buyer said the cat part was worth nothing. I just wanted to get rid of it TBH so I sold it as that. The one that doesn't have honeycomb is all steel.

Nice pickup by the way, sounds like you made some money.

Yeah, I think mine is just a muffler but I sold some motorcycle parts to a guy with a shop before so I'll run it by him. Also mine has the 5? pipes that go into one main pipe which then goes either into the muffler or converter. I'll have to barrow my Grandpa's inspection camera to look inside.

Well to add to this, just now my neighbor who fixes computers just gave me a server. I am so happy! Now if only I can find out how to post pics from a Ipod.

Get the photobucket app and imbed the direct link. Thats how I do it on my iPhone. Be on the lookout for pinless Xeon CPU's in that server, PartTimeScrapper likes those.

Seriously? Somehow, I don't quite think that would be good for the environment.

    Congrats on your nice score.

sorta, its by product of drilling for oil, and best way to deal with it, is burn it off, carefully and safely but hooking up tank to torch, like you get at HD or Lowes.

There is Natural Gas and there is Propane. Neither of which is found in our atmosphere (at least not mine).

Well I'll just keep this going, on the way home my neighbor threw out an air conditioner. So I grab it and my other neighbor says that her Grandma is moving to assisted living and they have to get all the stuff out. They said they would call when they have a pile. Looks like this will be once again another nice pick-up

Today I finally cashed in the Mazda 626. with wheels. radiators, wiring, and other misc. it still weighed 2560 pounds for a grand total of steel being $256.00. Had to rent a dolley and oil leaked on it so we had to clean it, went to the self serve car wash and some one had dumped a hot water tank in one of the bays. Cashed that and other steel for $53.60

Kinda nice when people just leave "money" laying around.

My neighbor (IT GUY) threw me some stuff today and there was a black mobo. would this be foreign grade? Also went picking in another neighboorhood and found what looked like an eviction. Got a brand new brake drum- ill give that to my mechanic, computer tower, bike, and other misc.

Well not enjoying this, got a diagonal cut in my palm and everyone moves their hand so it will take twice as long to heal. Not to mention in my post here awhile back the deal fell through with the person moving to assisted living (I think at least) and this is because it has been months with no call and they had a friend move in with them and when I'm loading up non-ferrous today I hear pssssssssssssss. Don't think nothing of it. So then we leave and the new people are dismantling a/cs in their front yard! On a better note, the non-ferrous load paid out to $185.00 and a ferrous load of shred brought in $43.70. BUT PRICES ON SHRED ARE DOWN!
