When I had one down to that point, I used a chain saw and sawed thru the studs and with a chainsaw, pulled the walls down and dropped the roof onto the floor for easy cutting. Pulled it loose from the rafters and rolled it up and tied with string for easier loading.

We plan on pulling on each end with the trucks, after we take out alot of studs on in the interior walls. Have the roof fall down on top of the floor basically. And thanks for all the recognition guys!

Roof is down, Pulled it down like a domino with my truck, I have the video, that I'll try to upload to Youtube, we're currently cutting up the roof at this point and soon we will be cutting up the frame.

Mobile Home trailer is done, Got 6 20 foot I beams out of the deal to sell and split between me and my buddy. I sold my double axle trailer, I profited off of it, but I sold it to pay for my second semester of tuition, as I just started my first semester of college for Electromechanical Maintenance Technology. I'm going to do something that I have never done before in my scrapping life, I'm going to scrap this winter, the past two winters of me scrapping, I halted my operations and just waited till fall to do anything, but this winter I'm gonna have too because I'm gonna need the extra cash for food and "drinks". :P, I also got that shed set up to put stuff in it, aswell, I just gathered up a great portion of my e-waste and its all packaged up and ready to be shipped out. I will post pictures when I have time to upload them, but right now I have to head off to my Accident Prevention class, talk to you guys soon.

Been a long time since I posted. Haven't really been doing much scrapping. I'm gonna try to now since I'm on my winter break. My truck ran out of inspection and it needs a few things so I can really do nothing till I deal with that. So yeah I'm back.

I just put E waste ads back on craigslist. My truck is still out of inspection and I am no longer working at Lowes because the hours sucked and it was interfering with my school work. Working everyday after school 6pm to 10pm wasn't Ideal especially when you have a 45 min drive home. Anyways I just reposted ads for E waste and I'm gonna be doing it out of my Jetta. So I'm gonna be able to experience how some of you the small time scrappers use their cars for hauling, since I never experienced that before. I always had a pick up and trailer at my disposable as well as my dads Chevy Express work van, so I was kind of spoiled when I got started.

Well ebay just really pissed me off. I sold 2 things in march. Equalled out to 277 dollars In sales. My invoice comes in at 83 bucks for march. now how in the hell is th a that reasonable. When did ebay start charging 30 percent... Jesus..

They don't?! Still ten percent for me. There are listing fees and special option fees and such of course but I never get hit with those. Are you sure it's not some Fedex shipping added in there? If you run that through Ebay that comes up later on your invoice after the items are delivered...

Well even so I only had at most 30 to 40 in shipping. StI'll 50 bucks for 277. Is kind of steep.

Just printed off a load of flyers today, I printed like 6 or 7 out yesterday and I went and posted them around town. I got the microsoft suite through my school for free since I'm paying a **** load of money to go to school. I made up a professional looking flyer and I also was able to make a little 2 x 2 ad incase i want to enter an ad in the paper.

Time to start rolling.

Sorry for delayed response almost 8 months later.

As of right now I'm stockpiling, I'm not actively looking for scrap but I take it when offered.

Oh and I'm no longer stepside recycling, I graduated from my stepside, now I'm in a nicer Sierra that I'll only use to pull a trailer for scrap, that's it.

Your story of building your business is impressive, motivating, and a great learning experience for those willing to learn. I am impressed with your insights. I do not remember seeing this thread in the past, but will be looking for it in the future. Good luck.

Well over a year later from my last update, I no longer look advertise for scrap metal, I do have a scrap pile building up from junk that I accumulate from messing with vehicles or stuff my buddy's accumulate. I'm out of school and have a full time job which is actually the end of the scrap metal recycling process. I work as a maintenance technician that melts down ductile iron such as rail road rails, brake calibers, axle shafts and just other general clean iron scraps. They melt it down and pour it into sand molds making all sorts of stuff out of iron, such as pump housing, turbo housings, vehicle parts such as manifolds, intakes, axle yokes, and all sorts of other stuff made out of cast iron.

I no longer have a 1/2 ton truck, upgrade to a 3/4 ton Duramax diesel last November cause I have jeeps that I like to build and take offroad and beat the crap out of.

All in all, I am grateful for being a part of this community, it has taught me a lot about recycling and has helped me obtain a job in the recycling industry.
