    New Help!!

I am new to scrapping I was just going to focus on e-waste but decided to scrap it all.. I have made business cards, magnets for the Tahoe doors, and had some shirts made. I have done well with facebook and got a huge load from the local air force training base. I search dumpsters at places I have talked to which have only been, storage units and some apartment complexs. I am running into not getting much scrap on my daily run to these places. I have talked to some local business, maybe just a handful which include oxygen health companies. How do I get them to bite harder? And who should I really be targeting? Have not run any ads in the local paper, just craigslist and freecycle. A lot of business' that would have daily scrap, go to the scrap yard themselves the few I have even talked to (overhead door companies, demolition company). I also talked to one contractor and never have got a response. Do I need to show my face more? Or just try the bigger advertising route? There is no one in town doing e-waste except the scrap yard takes towers at .10 a pound.

Word of mouth.. is the best thing.... Hand out business cards as your local eat out joint. When You pay. Slip a card in the tip... When you leave leave one on da table.

When you goto the store... give one to the cashier.. if you see a manager give one to him... When you goto church.. hand one to the pastor.. say.. Let us buy your broken computers and pay

you for them by the pound like pop can business.. and put some money back into new office equipment..

When you get your oll change give one to the moneky wrench... give one to the lady at the cashier.. Hand em out.. Like Dollars Bills.

More You hand out.. more you will get in return.

You can't be in business if You don't advertise...

    Good Luck.. and BE PROFESSIONAL.

You said there is only one place that buys ewaste near you. Have you approached them to see if they would sell to you? If they buy at .10 # you may be able to get in with them or start buying yourself at better than what they are paying. Weigh up a few towers and see what you can afford to pay.

I have mentioned it to them about buying because I expressed interest one day when I had broke down some items to scrap. And they acted more interested in getting my info about how to break them down and where to sale them. And they kind of re-route the conversation now every time its brought up so I don't talk about it much. I just got my order of 2500 business cards so I better get busy. I was interested in what areas of business' I should target. I want to get the newspaper to do an article about it since I have set up a CRT program for the landfill. I feel I am in the middle of boot strapping this start up from being broke and it taking off and being to big for the little bit of start up I have/had going on...

They probably know that their not getting top dollar for their stuff, it's only a matter of time before they stumble across the info.
Try to figure a way to get a slice of their pie, even if only for one time. Maybe offer to set up their breakdown area the right way,
    for a % or whatever.

^^Adding on to what Mechanic said, they just might not have the time to break the towers down like we do. They might let you buy them if you offer a higher price or even per tower. Maybe keep at em and see what happens.

Once you realize the scope of how far you can go into the ewaste business the results will baffle your mind at times. Just be prepared to be married to it if you are serious.
