    Unhappy Breaking News, Sims Metal Management Is On Fire

    I can see a major drop in scrap at this yard for months to come and sure the smaller yards profit, Sad day in the Hudson county scrap community

    August 20th 2013: Firefighters battle blaze at Sims Metal Management recycling plant in Jersey City

    JERSEY CITY - Firefighters are battling a large fire at a recycling plant in Jersey City.
    The fire broke out at the Sims Metal Management plant at around 11 p.m. last night. The plant is located on Linden Avenue East.

    The smoke from the blaze at plant is visible for miles.

    Wow, I hope no one got hurt. I use Sims Metal Manegment in Chesapeake VA.

    Oh no, that's so bad for them. Hopefully they can get it contained. I know that's got to be a tough job putting out a fire that is in such an irregular area like a scrap pile. It looks like they only have one building on fire, maybe a shred sorting building. That's going to be expensive take time to replace. Maybe there weren't too many people working since it was close to midnight when it started, but pray for the safety of the firefighters and everyone else involved.

    also hope no one got hurt unless your bringing in tons here sims dosnt pay much.

    I think they opened a yard near Little Rock a short time back.right off I-40
