bought a cat at the local auction

Haven't been to the local auction for a while, so I went last night. I used to go quite often and have helped the family from time to time, so the auctioneer picks on me sometimes. I bid up to $10 on the converter because I wasn't sure if it was a junk one or an decent on. He picks on me for being cheap and I win it for $15.

How did I do on it?

A large "4 dot" GM. I would pay you about $95 today.

Double gm? Does that mean there is honeycomb at both ends? I recently got some domestic cats that have honeycomb on both ends and figured they would go for more. Hope so, ill probably throw mine on ebay.

Thats just the name we use for it out here. Alot of people have different terminology all for the same cat. largeGM, double, Large AC,GM1 etc... its to keep people confused.

Focker... So you don't think that based on your buyer or your region that there could possibly be a different name for it?

All yards have different categories and different gradings. It would be obtuse to think that there is just one way to grade a cat.

If your buyer has just one category for GMs, you might want to start shopping around your cats because you could be getting taken for a ride.

its called a double Gm by my buyer and see the 4 dots on the shield? that makes it a double. if it had 5 dots on the shield it would be a medium GM. some people might try to cheat you and call it a medium.

My yard calls it just GM, I know that comes off blazers and s10s with 4.3s but probably others. It's not a four dot even tho it has four dots. A four dot is four dots in a diamond pattern and are not as thick as this one. Had one last week $95 at my yard, probably 100 to 120 with a core buyer

Edit. I will say the double GM makes sense tho I've never seen that term on any of the core buyer sites. That's a heavy converter and these are pretty thick
