I think Mech said in his initial post on these boards he does the same with saving them up. So I can't be in to bad of company!

Well thanks for the honesty on that. I have refined some a long time ago and I quickly came to the conclusion that they where junk to me.

I would think that the amount of gold could be calculated if you know the thickness of the gold.

I don't know its been a while since I've looked at them. Its hard to say if they had flash plating they might be in the $1 each range if less it would be less. the white dots on the boards with four metal strips coming out of the are BeO they have gold in them.

Screw extractors.

I have seen a similar product to these, made & invented in NZ. I don't think you'd have to drill it out first with small screws etc.
Those pics of the screws above, I think they actually don't even screw them in. Someone told me they use a special tool that just hammers the screw into place.
Once its in place, its made its own screw thread, so you have to unscrew it to get it out.
