i hear that i need a couple small trailers just for that reason. once my truck is full its full, i won't go anywhere unless i have room to slid in a fridge or stove for example in the back. i had to go twice this week because i needed money for diesel. i try not to go unless i have over a ton

I have no problem turning in light loads. I know it feels like you should only go to the yard if you have x amount of lbs or dollars saved up but I got over that a long time ago. money is money and who cares if you make a weeks worth of pay in one day or three to five days turn in. If the yard isn't that far way it doesn't kill you in gas and at least you did something that day to contribute.

NEVER EVER feel like $59.00 isn't worth a turn in because in scrap time/work, thats like working three 8 hour days in a normal 8 to 5 turn in job that ends at 5pm. Scrapping is a 24/7 hour job - its hard work, its dirty work and most times its scut work. NO amount is too little to turn in. If I needed to turn in a $5.00 bag of cans to buy a loaf of bread and a pound of meat to feed my family no way in hell would I feel guilty. Who cares? At the end of the day you provided, never feel guilty or shamed!!!!

The scrap yard isn't going to judge you for the amount you turn in, if they do they suck because at the end of the day you helped their bottom line and neither should you judge yourself nor any other scrapper judge you because we are all in your shoes!!

I really didnt mind, just the gas its several miles away, but my dad was wanting out of the house, so he rode with me,give us a chance to visit, got to see the farmers digging sweet potatoes, corn harvest is really going, and got to see some cotton blooming. Dad loves to see that kinda stuff, gets him talking bout how it was when he used to farm and work the cotton gin.So it was time well spent. But i gotta get to scoring some more, that was everything i had, but got some honey do's, theres been a request to screen in the porch, put up a storm door, and rework the flower bed.so i know what the next couples days will be

My yard will not normally take tires, i have seen them take in push mowers, but riding mowers and any vehicle that looks like shred instead of parts, tires have to be removed. Now if a vehicle might be resold as a running auto they let them stay on.

I completely agree with you on this. Lite loads for a short trip to the yard regardless of totals, if you need it now, you need it now. I'm at my favorite yard at least 4 times a week with my loads from curbico and no matter how much it is, they love it that its only increasing their bottom line. I just like starting my nightly shopping adventure with an empty trailer since its only a 4x8 harbor freight custom strengthen trailer that will max out at about 1200 pounds of money. Its just nice when "you" think your going with a lite load, it ends up getting more than expected in cash. Gotta love aluminum lawn chairs.

24/7 is an understatement, I can't remember the last time I had a solid 3 straight hours to sleep. I must really love my job.

Sorry for quoting like this but using the mobile app is really different than the desktop.

Happy scrapping one small load at a time.
