I've finally learned to not trust anyone's estimate of how much stuff they are giving/selling you.
I got a phone call from a local computer shop. They said that they had 12 desktops and a few miscellaneous items. I took one tote and my measuring tote and my scale.
Turns out, they had set aside 20 desktops, 70 lbs of boards, and 5 laptops. I then walked through their shop with them and told them what I could do with the rest of their scrap. Picked up an additional 25 lbs of li-ion batteries, 50 lbs of power supplies, a few pounds of RAM and a couple pounds of processors. I also left them with a list of what I buy and requests on how to keep things separated so it doesn't take me 2 hours the next time I'm there. They were more than pleased. I was thrilled and my Explorer was squatting all the way home...
Oh, and when I got home, I had to resort everything. The only way I could get it home was to just pile stuff up in the truck. Only the one tote...everything else looked like
ewaste soup.
It was quite amusing when I reflect on it. I was in too much of a hurry to take a pic of the back of the Explorer...
