This here is how they look, the 2000 models are much sleeker, an sportier. Mine is a 99.

At the end of the day, it comes down to what you prefer an if you can get the job done with it. I prefer the Van, others prefer their rides. It's all good, work gets completed, I get paid, an my clients/customers are happy, happy, happy.

oh ok, so a mini van is an SUV crossed with a station wagon.
for a car they look like they cover just about every need, nice and roomy.
that red one is neat.
so what do you call a van? a van?
you know your standard white cargo vans, oh I know, you know american pickers?
that tv show? well the van they drive, do you call that a van or something else?

Wile this is a long time ago in 1977 my family had a 1977 Pontiac Catalina with a 301 CID . Known as the B-body
Engine choices were vast

I guess when you look at the B body from General Motors - TO SOME PEOPLE - the look is not to there liking ... But to drive one is to love one they were considered downsized form what was being made at the time , & still they were big cars . Smooth great handling , A fine car .
The road master ... Now thats a car ... advertised to tow up to 5000 pounds, and extended to 7,000 lbs with a weight distributing hitch

An yep Ben..just a van. Bleh now that I think about it...there is also..Cargo Vans, Conversion vans. I call them all vans to be honest. Only exception is for a class B RV. Then I call it a small rv..lol.

Not to rain on the mini van parade I recognize them for the work horses they can be.
Never reach the weight limit on this baby and at only a grand will make most of my money back scrapping it out when it finally dies for good. Also doubles as storage space until it's full.
Never unloading shred by hand PRICELESS!

Yes if I could have that for $1000 I would be a happy fellow ,Fact is thats just what I need to go full circle with my neighbors for the scrapping visuals.Shred Machine

While this truck's mpg is atrocious the weight it can handle is amazing. I only run shred and prepared to the yard with it after fuel and oil the cost is around 3 trips with the ranger. But that sucker will hold 5 ranger loads with the ranger loaded on top of that easily and not hand unloading shred is worth the cost of running it down to the yard. I also will run it for my other business moving loads of rock or loam stone dust whatever the current job needs. Shes about as pretty as a dog rolling in mud but she has yet to fail getting the job done.
Sir the trick is not to get drunk early then the rest of the day is all gray and strange lol. I rarely put alcohol past my lips but when i do i make a day of it to get it out of my system.

I am finding it easier to earn with a pickup as loading faster yet I am developing a new set of muscles as I still have the same determination .
So it's do or die and I find I am lifting ovens up over my head I take doors off and what ever but still this is a new truth . See a mini , you started using the roof as a means to the end But with the pick up for the most part your just lifting.& when you on the way to the yard your items are like the barrel of monkeys game .
I am being approached by people in a nicer way , Today i picked up a boiler job and the owner gave me 150 mix,
some brass 15 pounds and about 10 pounds copper.
Other big money scrappers are being friendlier like I am joining a new level , maybe it's time for me to do what I know can be done .
I took a cool pic I my first mile high load but I wonder if it really pays to post pics. I need not wet a lurkers appetite.
By the way my ford cargo I still need to fix can hold more than my pick up . My wish list van to be fixed has easily held 4000 LB and I just don't think this pick up can do that with the same ease . but time will tell.

My pick up is fine , yet at 2000 pounds it starts hitting the rubber stoppers on the frame so I am not that impressed .But sure i'll load the heck out of it as it happens
I wont hold back but this truck is not gonna hold 2 tons .
It looks so impressive all high up in the air like its ready to kick some A** .
My first boiler job humbled the truck, It's still a money maker But in time I will need some helper springs .
$120 I can get shocks with springs around them might help a little .

Sirscrapalot, I saw one of those today. White with the wood grain on the side and in perfect condition. It was awesome! Not the prettiest vehicle, but a classic.

Actially a bumper is most likely rated for only 2000lbs and 200lbs tongue weight

Very nice forum, i appreciate the advice. I'm just starting out finding scrap from my town, vernon Tx. I'm not sure if i should take peoples trash if they are leaving it out on the curb.

take what you see is at curb, whats in bag once in a wile yes . but if you make a habit to go into to many bags sooner or later you will have complainants .
