    Just a word of encouragement

What I really want to say to everyone is don't give up. There are times when I get frustrated and then out of blue the good Lord blesses me with a nice pickup of goodies. I love doing what I do and Im only getting better at it, I hope and pray that everyone does very well at it. I know in a post I said I hope more people quit doing this, I am talking about the lazy people and the dishonest people who do this for a means of making money. Those people make it harder for us to are doing it the right way. I pray that the good Lord blesses all of us with great days ahead of us. I just want to say don't quit on this business, its fun, rewarding and if you put your time and effort in it, you will be rewarded. Good luck, God bless and happy hunting!!!!!!

That's an interesting statement. I believe anyone who scraps does it for money, not for the fun of it. I would love for everyone in my area to stop so I could get all of the scrap! Competition is a good thing.

It's always been for the money for me. I will admit that I like sitting in my shop and breaking stuff down but most of the time it's just a second job. I am thankful for it.

Always did it for the extra cash. Its becoming a form of therapy as I get lost in what I am doing and helps keep me focused on the task at hand.

Yep, started as fun, still is fun, but now its my full time job. No complaints from me. I enjoy it, an like BC said it can be quite theraputic. I'd rather break things then do some of the stuff I have in the past for work.

I run a business that not only pays me good, but I actually enjoy! Thats a big win in it's self.

To do something you enjoy for work an not hate the job.

I do it for fun. I like to take some metals out of the waste stream and recycle them. It is nice that people can enjoy it and do it honestly.

Same here, brother. If it wasn't for the money I'd be spending my time woodworking or boating or just hanging out with my wife and kids. As it is, it's a small secondary income that helps pay for all the stuff the kids need for school, a few bills here and there, and hopefully some extra stuff for Christmas.

Don't get me wrong, I like the work, but if it didn't pay I wouldn't do it.

Actually I quite enjoy doing what small amount im doing, and the money is a nice reward and a better reward when you can help someone else out with something that you collected that works and donate it to someone in need. I picked up a working dryer, found a family on limited income and donated it.
