Why I always ask for scrap

So a couple of months ago I was doing my weekly rounds at curbco and I found some stainless exhaust parts. I walked up and asked the guy if I could have them and he said he had some other stuff. So I gave him my phone number (Back before I had business cards) and left. Well, he called me last week and said he had some metal, no description.

So I went and picked it up this morning, and got a lot more than I was expecting. He gave me:

    8 Brake Rotors:

Assorted Boxes of Stuff and two transmission housings (?):

Now, I started digging through those boxes and found:

And the biggest score of them all:

28 Sticks of RAM (Most of them are 1 gig), 4 of those AMD Ceramic's, a IBM Ceramic, and that other little tiny one. All Free!

This is why I recommend asking at curbco, if I didn't, I wouldn't have gotten any of this.

This is very true, back when I used to go curb shopping I would allways ask if somebody was around. Many times the people would have more stuff to get rid of. Nice score, you must have started to do the happy gold dance when you found those processors and all that ram.

So, you experienced guys, how much money do you figure the pictured items will bring?

Just some quick numbers, I got roughly 160 Lbs of Rotors which at my scrap yard go for .095 cents a lb. = $15.20, in the boxes, there's probably $10-$15 worth of stuff (Lots of car parts and non ferrous). I haven't had time to sort through it. There is probably 1-1.5 LBS of ram in the tray = $13.25-19.87. Total = Roughly $50. I only had to drive like a minute to pick it up so there was practically no gas used.

1GB ram might be worth reselling. I'll PM you.
