    Band saw

For cutting metals I use the basic stuff we talk about. Sawzalls - Grinders - Circular saws .
But this week Harbor freight had a tool on sale for $81 - that is a what the heck lets try it price !!
The portable band saw is a very nice tool that cuts steel pipe with ease & the blade last long enough that you loose track of how many times you make cuts. New blades @ $15 for 2 is a fine replacement cost .
Harbor Freight model is a low cost type with 6 amps power .
I bet the Milwaukee tool @ $300 with 15 amps is a extra fine tool to have
regardless of what you want to spend I highly recommend getting a portable band saw .
For workers like us it is a essential tool.

They are very nice tools. I had the Milwaukee one. Sold it when I moved. I had too much stuff.

Keep us updated on how well it lasts.

Yes it is well worth $81
I have already made enough cuts that would have been $45 bucks worth of reciprocating blades
this model is a slow cutting tool but it works with ease , technique is the most important thing to discover
since the tool is bulkier then a reciprocating saw it can at times be hard to position tool at area that cuts and wont bind .
I have to figure it will cut tall AC compressors well
