    Tomorrow's my first birthday!

Well, not MY first birthday, I'm an OLD MAN... but the first anniversary of me joining this forum.

I just wanted to post up and give a hearty THANK YOU to admin for having this forum, and to all the posters who've given me hints, tips, knowledge, encouragement, and congratulations along the way. Hopefully I've passed along something that's helped a couple of yall, too.

Perusing my excel spreadsheet of my scrapping receipts...

Over the past 12 months, I've hauled in 35,977 pounds of 'tin'. Now, not every ounce of that was actually steel, since there've been water heaters, white goods, painted stuff...etc. But, 35977 pounds of steel would be a cube 4 feet, 2 1/4 inches on a side!

    458# of copper, or a cube 11 1/4 inches on a side.

469# of brass. Almost 11 1/2 inches cube.

and 1183# of aluminum in various forms, for an aluminum cube 1 foot and just over 11 1/2 inches on a side.

Counting up every item I've scrapped or resold, the grand total comes to 49,040 pounds diverted from the dump. WOOT!

I'm not going to discuss & divulge the money aspect, but it's considerable... since we've been more than making my wife's car note with scrap most months.

Big thanks again to all yall, and here's hoping the next 12 months are good to us all.
