The non-ferrous manager at my yard said I can have some plastic 55 gallon drums if i want them. I just have to make sure I bring extra straps next time I bring in my aluminum.

As well as being the inside buyer for my company and running our e-scrap sector, I also do all of our marketing and advertising. I like to hear what y'all think about giveaways and freebies. What else would y'all like to get (besides a better price!)? Right now my company gives out hoodies, jackets, t-shirts, hats, stickers and magnets with our name on it to select customers. I started a facebook campaign where if you like our page I will give you $10/ton more on iron and $0.05/lb. more on non-ferrous as a one time deal.

We will also be giving away a 50 inch TV at the end of the month. You just write your name and number on the back of your receipt and we will have a drawing at the end of the month. I am also tossing around the idea of getting a hotdog stand on site once a month.

What is the best or most useful thing that you get as a freebie? What do you wish your yard did as a form of customer appreciation? I like to hear what the guys (and gals) on the front line think.

Hot Dog Stand sounds good...but better yet how about the opportunity to run some equipment? You know where I will be headed!

My yard has these big, blue barrels of attitude. They can open them up on the spur of the moment and WHAM!
Then, sometimes they can even be friendly.
That comes in small containers, though.

That made me laugh, thanks Spin. My yards don't do freebies that i know of. If they gave out tshirts, sweat shirts, etc I'd rock it. I like my yard. lol.

Then again..I'm good with free hot dogs.

Sirscrapalot - Now taking offers on a blue barrel of attitude.

Those keychain magnets is probably the best investment a business could do.

Every time I use it, it makes more money than it could ever cost to make it in the first place.

Plus, whenever scrapmetals mentioned & I pull out the magnet..... Everyone knows, I AM THE MAN.

a yard I use to go to would give out hot dog tickets when you took in a car, and they periodically gave out t-shirts and key chain magnets

1 yard I go to now on saturdays gives you a ticket for 10 free liters of gas when you take a car over the scale (nice when you save up 10 of them and cash them in that way).

The main yard I go to now has a customer appreciation day twice a year giving out free burgers, hotdogs, drinks... think It's all you can eat too

My preferred yard has a punch card promo. After 8 trips with 1000lbs of ferrous or 100lbs of non you get an extra $20.00. Just cashed in my first one last week. 4th person to fill one out might I add.
