Richmond steel always sent T-shirts with the driver coming to pick up a loaded trailer at my yard, Westcoast Metals in Langley BC give away the best magnets, Ed Jackson frorm Amix Salvage gave me a two large piles of rail they had forgot to take from a job removing rail from the old Kettle Valley Rail-road.
Parts of the old Kettle Valley railway right of way have now become part of the Canada trail.
On another occasion Ed Jackson ( Amix ) gave me more scrap left behind from a job up Harrison lake, An Adams grader some partially dismantled D6's and 8's and some triple drum donkey winches. Any how Amix grabbed all the scrap that was marshalled into one spot, like 800 tons leaving the stuff that was further out at random locations.
Rypac aluminium in Surrey gave me a bumper sticker, I love scrap.
Nick in Edmonton gave me a gravel box for my tandem.
Not a yard but Taffy Anderson gave me an English double decker bus that she acquired with some property had purchased to set up a stud mill.
A scrappers life is far from boring.
Bit off topic, The weirdest thing I've ever owned is a Nodwell.
