can you believe.

so I hear a bunch of fellow scrappers and long timers talk about Christmas lights.. so I spot a bunch of boxes full this morning, snatched them up.. while on the phone with my local scrap yard asking a different question I stated that from what ive heard across the nation, Christmas lights normally go as number 2 insulated... my yard said they don't take x mas lights.. I explained that's just wire, all lights are clipped... he said nope.. you may toss in with tin but not even low recovery.. now I striped a small piece and theres more copper in x mas wire than some tv wire they take... I tell you this state is backwards in most cases..

Just for the record I would not recomend anyone burn off copper. Its very harmful to ozone, and illeagl.

Again I just saw that I forgot that parrt. Sorry. I had a little trouble trying to edit it as I am on a phone and not a computer. I didn't intend to tell anyone to burn wire. That would be the same as telling someone to burn the old tires off wheels. I'm glad u all catching my mistakes. Gonna lay off the keyboard for now cause I am feeling like a dumb a double s. AGAIN ANYONE READING THIS. I'M NOT ADVISING ANYONE TO BURN COPPER WIRE. ITS VERY ILLEAGL.

yess I think ill save them for mid year but wire that small/thin they call it low recovery where im at. I even had mixed appliance wire, power cords and kept the small stuff separated but unless you have some thick wire at this yard its low recovery so.. im buying a stripper from tnt tooling (from Canada) unless I find one of exact nature.. cost 64 plus 9 to ship.

Not here in Louisiana. I haven't found a scrap yard yet around here that takes circuit boards. We are definitely backwards. No christmas lights either (I'm in livingston not too far from New Iberia). What I do is strip them.

Somewhere in there I thought about suggesting Beaumont but then nahh, that would be way too far. Been awhile since I was through there much but think it can't be much further
