If you were getting bitten by bedbugs you would feel it trust me I've had em before. Google pictures of their bites. If you've got any they will be covering your legs in super itchy blisters. Use rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to kill em if you got em

Thats why i would never pick up any furniture not worth the risk of getting them.If you do get them in your home then be prepared to spend about $1000 getting rid of them.Hell with some bedbugs lol.

You're probably safe there blue. Soon as you get scrubbed down with some deisel and rinsed with some lye soap you'll be fine(haha ; )

Don't feel too awful bad, you're not the only one who's drifted into something like that, only to realize later the possibilities

BEDBUGS-crunchy and chewy at the same time

While Cincinnati has it high points, like Graters Ice Cream, Bengals, Reds and Skyline Chili, we ranked number one for them critters, not a highlight for the city. The University Of Kentucky Entomology Department has some of the best info that I have been able to find. Unfortunately, it is something that many here have to deal with. There is always mattresses and couches out at the curbs around the neighborhood. They are pia, but ... it is something that we can be proactive about.

We have a routine of treating the house every month. Between using a steamer, putting a powder in electrical sockets, and using a spray around baseboards, vacuuming often, etc...we see more spiders than bedbugs, in the coarse of the year. Have talked to some exterminators who agree that if we could get more people to be pro-active, rather than re-active, we could maybe win the battle. But the reality down here is, that you may have one hitchhike home from the movies, or Wallyworld, or a gas station. And even though all the e-scrap hits the carport or shop, we still load and unload and who knows if one crawled in a pants cuff or not.

So, we just keep doing the routine and try to be prudent about what, and who, we let in the house.

I worked in lots of hotels and the not so funny thing is when the maintenance guys get rid of one of these beds they cut the mattress with a big x on both sides and toss it in a rented roll off dumpster and some still get taken.... I am almost sure no one is taking these to sleep on but if they take them to gut the springs they are going to take home more than a few dollars from them! yuck!!!

Yea, they do the x thing here to, not just the hotels, but the rental houses. I think they are required to do it here by law. An Brojer, thanks for that link, UofK is the one I was thinking of earlier. My internet connection is be craptastic the last week or so. hence me not wanting to go look for the link..lol.

In short..Bedbugs suck. Cost money to get rid of, an learn how to look for signs to save your self the cost of getting rid of them.

The best thing you could do is when you get home from somewhere that is "suspect" strip and throw your clothes in the dryer. Heat kills bedbugs.

another thing that works is ether and the smell comes off a little easier and you don't have to dig in your tank for the fuel. Ether also works great for poison oak/ivy. about 15 minutes and its gone! Just a tidbit..
