so so day

Found a Trek bike but it's all beat up. The wheels look like aluminum so I grabbed it. It's an older "800 Sport" Should I try and part it out or just scrap it for the metal?

Found some smash and grabber had taken the cords again but left me a cable box and left about 3-4 ft. of insulated alum. wire. Also snagged a smaller TV from someone dropping it off. TV is suppose to work. Not sure if I will scrap it or clean it and put it in a spare room.

Got out of the truck in one spot and found some sort of power supply? Big alum. finned plate on one side, PCB on the other with big copper coil windings. Aluminum shop light shroud and some other misc. junk. Found a couple refrigerators that had been relieved of cords but the copper and compressors were still there. Didn't have the heart to open them and release the gas though. I'm a mechanic by trade and it's not good for the air at all so I passed. Found a quarter and some legos too. Legos seem to bring good $$ on feebay if you have enough of them.

gravygraber, mind posting afew pics of the bike? Might be interested in it at more than scrap value.

Same goes with anyone else who gets bikes not looking for junk, just good stuff. Thanks

That's a good brand of bike. You could get more then scrap.

It's got a slightly bent wheel and the seat is ripped up. Both front and rear brake cables are off and broken. Not sure if its work putting money into. Rims and brake levers and crank gear arms all solid aluminum. Maybe could get some $$ for the shimunto gearing and frame?
