My foreclosed friend and his scrap hoard

Mixed emotions today. Got a call from a friend being foreclosed upon. Turns out the kick-out goons are coming Thursday or Friday and he called me to take away his hoard of ham radio and computer equipment rather than let someone else profit off of it. Filled my 15 foot box truck.

Happy part is there's some good profit here when I unload tomorrow.

    There are two sad parts:
    1) obviously my friend is losing his home
    2) he is also one of the hoardiest hoarders I have ever seen. Place was nasty. I had no idea his home was like this.

I guess happy part 2 is he gets a fresh start...

    Sigh.

Based on your previous threads and reputation there is no doubt in my mind you will be guiding him to scrap his valuables. This is honorable and noteworthy. I also assume you will not charge him for your time and gas. Good luck to your friend and bless you for your desire and big heart to help him out. With your help he has a chance for a fresh start.

Please don't disregard the re-use of ham radio equipment there certainly is a market. I am on the look out for a used HF antenna tuner so let me know if you come up with one that looks usable. Mike ke4ilg

If you do scrap them take some pics of the boards most will have Ta caps all over them.

I would just like to see the boards and maybe use some in my "where to find Ta caps" blog post to help people ID them on the boards.

Um, you give me credit for more saintliness than I possess in the cold, lean times. Almost no work in half a month with the bleeping holidays. And I had two guys on the job for five hours.
