    Bounced Check - Seriously?

So I had posted here previously about some catalytic converters I traded in before Christmas. I got a call the other day from the owner of the company I took them too. He told me he had bounced that check cause he was out of state and wasn't able to get any money into the account in time before the holidays?

I cashed it at a Walmart since it was a printed check and my bank was also closed - now I have to track the company down and figure out how to pay them for it. But I'm not getting anywhere, Walmart has just told me to wait for something in the mail. Tricky part is I rarely get mail that I don't specifically address to my P.O. Box and everyone always sends it to the street address that always gets returned to the sender.

It was nice of the guy to call me and let me know, and he said he will gladly write me another check and include any fee's I've incurred..

After the little trickery with the rims and this bit here.. I seriously don't think I'll be doing anymore business with him.

Merry Christmas to you, I had a buyer bounce one on me and boy did it leave a bad taste in my mouth. The only thing I did different was I went back and talked to his county prosecutor and they gave him a choice of covering the check or jail. Took me awhile before I would deal with another buyer.

I would have been steaming. I had to deal with a bounced check on a car I sold one time. It all worked out at the end.

My regular scrap dealer is a millionaire with a good reputation and his checks are always good. I never question them. He doesn't send out 1099s either.

He's got a pretty big warehouse and seems legit. Besides, I don't think he would want to rip me off based on our relationship - I think he's got good intentions at the end of the day. I just hope I get this figured out, I was wondering why I haven't been able to cash any checks at the check cashing place.. I've had to work around bank hours which can be a big PITA.

I've seen a few millionaire buyers disappear. Few around 2008. Usually they are owner operators who hire a management team or person that feel they can sit back and now spend some $$. It happens fast. Lol.

Also many mid level guys are getting advances from buyers. So if your selling when the loads are being shipped or loaded. That advance $$ has been put out and you better go cash that check.

A tl of copper may cost your yard 100k to buy. Plus all thr other stuff on the table. Easy to run out of $$. Getting lines of credit are hard to secure from banks. This stinks. Im sometimes stuck turning away people because my $$ is tied up. On a load that you didn't get paid on or some other reason. Most large corporations hve lines of credit to cover this. Not I or many others. This is what makes me and many of thr top paying guys pay so much. When I'm building a load I want to do it ASAP flip it and do it again.

Even if you only have 2k a day. Spend it all sell it and do that 5 times a week. Boom you just did 10k in sales. That's half million a year folks. Yyyyyyeeeeeesssss 500,000 big ones.

Now what made off it is another story. Short selling is not the way to make $$ but you sure can build your sales then refine your business model to meet your needs then set higher goals.

What other business in the world can you wake up and make a half million in sales with 2k a day and a little truck!!!

I'm serious. Drug dealing maybe. Or other shady businesses.

Start spending 10k a day. Oh my good now your pulling in 5 million a year. This folks gets Dor and Feds on ur ass fast. Then they see a large truck and what. A pallet jack. Lol

    Love this business and scrapfourms!!!

That's exactly we only pay in cash, cashiers check or, postal money order, it is more hassle, but it doesn't create screw ups and create unhappy customers. But then we are just a small buyer and it would astound you to know how many out there are living out of their cash registers.
