    Cat Food

I have a few friends that save their food cans for me. I'm fortunate in that my yard takes them as long as they are rinsed. Well, I picked up a bag today and was told that they mixed the soda cans in with their tin cans. Well, as I was sorting, the cat food cans felt different. I grabbed a magnet and guess what...it didn't stick. A quick test with the grinder and no spark. Double check your food cans, especially the Friskies cat food cans, they may just be aluminum. By the time I was finished sorting, I have a whole kitchen trash bag full of aluminum cat food cans!

Yep, we save ours also, Friskies is alum and 9 Lives is steel.

Yes, our can gets Friskies and 9Lives. The dog packs the empty off to the living room and licks it clean. I've got a box on the porch it gets thrown into then.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

As far as I know friskies is the only one alum. I have been saving them for about a year. I noticed it one day when I got a few bags full of tin cans. I have several ppl save their cans for me, I get several bags full, and when I have nothing else better to do, I crush them to save room. 50 gallon black bag of crushed tin cans weigh about 30-40 lbs. I don't have to peel lables off or anything. One day I noticed some was crushing easier than others, (friskies vs nine lives) looking farther I realized friskies was alum. I do peel the lable off them and make sure they are clean. I get can price for them. They put them in the bale just like beer/pop cans.

My parents save friskies cans for me and last time i had them mixed with aluminum cans and the yard sorted them out and paid them differently. The friskies were paid aluminum clip price. Not sure if this is normal or not i know every yard is different

I have the cans rinsed and the labels torn off. I also have them bagged separately. I'll take them with me to my yard on Friday. I'll let you know what I find out...

And I guess I'm just late to the party. At least I learned something new today.

Easy way for the dog to slice their tongue. Those edges are super sharp.

Also any tin cans I smash them down and they go into a computer carcass or dead washer going to the yard. It all adds up.

No sharp edges. The lids have pull tabs The can edge is rounded. I was wrong about the brands though. No 9Lives. Friskies and Science Diet.

    Cat Food

When Voodoo was younger, she had spent the better part of one day chewing on a kitchen knife while i was at work... No cuts!

The day I took mine to the yard, the guy in front of me had 2 big trash bags full of cat food cans. They went as UBC. Since he asked and I heard the answer, I didn't have to ask

here its dirty can price at 0.32lb clean its 0.38 mighty dog is also along with quit a few others so my dog does a good job at cleaning it but theres still the label that makes it dirty so I do not bother to much taking them off. I get a lot of regulars who give me recyclables as wm charges $7 for there approved bins to pick it up and our city has a lot of places to drop off but people do not want to go through all that all the time so I get a lot mostly glass but at $50ton it does add up and that's a mix price so I do not have to have whole or sep colors
