I actually bought a 220v heater last month with a gift card I got for Christmas but ended up returning it. Started thinking about it and didn't want to spend more on electricity than what the scrap was worth I was taking apart (large TV's, etc.). Also, the heater had a 20 amp plug and my receptacle is a 50 amp. Looked at changing it but it's wired into a 15 amp double pole breaker which doesn't make sense to me. It's wired with 6 gauge so that's no problem but I don't know enough about electricity so I gave up on it, not worth burning the house down lol. Might look into a propane heater.
