How much do you tip?

I DJ'd in a bar for 4 years before getting married... Can't give you any tips on getting the 'tender to go home with you- they deal with that ALL NIGHT LONG.. EVERY NIGHT.
I had to train my patrons to tip me.
They would say "Tips for a DJ?"
I said "Heck yeah man- do you tip your tender a buck to give you a beer?"
"Umm Yeah"
"Do you tip your server if she brings that beer to your table?"
"Umm Yeah"
"Then why would you not tip me when I play a song you hope will "get ya some?"



Then they would plop their $ in the tip jar. BOOM!
