Hey VoodooDaddy..... like Mechanic said, you can find the values of most things to tear down right here on the forum. Just use the search box and search for "breakdown" and you'll find a lot of interesting reading that should keep you busy for hours on slow days. A good thing to do is get a notebook and write down the findings in these breakdowns so you can go back and check on it when you are able to buy things. Do the same when you break something down yourself, and you'll soon know the values of each item and know which ones you should look for. You'll be amazed at how much more you'll have to break down when you are able to buy some scrap even on a very small budget. Lousypirate has a good approach to it, just take a stab at it, buy, breakdown, sell. Just make sure you log your results so you won't repeat a mistake.
I'm like AUminer and miked, I never run out of things I need to tear down. But if things ever get slow, or I can't work due to weather, I get on the phone and call around. Usually you can find a business somewhere that is looking to get rid of some junk.
