usually craigslist is worthless around here

But when my woman gets back with the truck I will be headed to pick up 20 directtv hd slimeline dish kits new in the box for free. I'm also thinking this might open up an opportunity for me because I've picked up a lot of scrap that this hotel has thrown out on previous remodels and they're remodeling their hotel and clearing out their storage right now. Maybe I can get a toehold

Just picked em up. Only 4 of them had lnbs to go with them, but they all have mounts hardware etc and are brand new in the box. Also got a couple hundred feet of brand new coax. Anyone have any idea how I would go about reselling this stuff? Usually the only stuff I resell is small engine stuff that I fix and I sell it locally. Also going to get to scrap my first lnb cuz he gave me a couple nonworking ones. Any idears or input are greatly appreciated

Try Ebay you can sell anything an everything on there. Try to sell the coax too Cause it is worth next to nothing at the scrap yard. Good luck man

They won't even buy coax here too many tweakers were clipping it off the base of telephone poles thinking it was copper lol I could imagine their rage when they got to the yard after stripping a few hundred feet and it pulled a magnet. No shards for us today

Much of DirectTV coax has a solid copper center conductor. I have stripped this coax in the past with my wire stripper and it worked easy so keep that in mind. Also it depends on the amount of coax that is involved the more you have the more likely someone might buy it. Mike.

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked

Just checked that coax. snakeskin part is steel of course or I woulda already been bragging but you were right the inside strand is solid copper. I was gonna just pick up all weekend and frantically do breakdowns Monday morning when the yards open but now I obviously have plans. On Monday I will post how much I get out of it. Just tried to tear down an lnb all the screws are out but I can't find a seam to pry that cover off. I will just have to bust out my 10 pound wrench in the morning

I'm a little peeved. Stripped a HUGE amount of this coax and only got 6 pounds of #1. I guess it makes sense though that inner strand is pretty thin. Its going in steel from now on unless the jacket AND inner strand are both copper. Bah

I have a wire stripper so when I have stripped that type coax it was easy and cut in one pass. The best coax I have stripped is some used by ham radio operators and has tinned copper shield and thick stranded center conductor. 73, Mike ke4ilg
