Right on course. A constantly updated record of my year

This year has been either right on course or better. So far i have crushed out 4 vehicles for a total of 17,100 pounds and i still have 4 for sure cars this month and others lined up for February already. If this keeps up it could easily be my best year yet plus there is still a farm cleanup waiting for me with 2 cars an old stake truck and several tons of metal to make my April quota. Who knows maybe by spring i will be looking into a bigger rig and a new location other than my basement to work out of .

    And it just keeps going...
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

well when i scrap i tend to put a full day into it but i don't get to do it 5 days a week usually one or 2 during the week and Saturdays. Sunday and other days i'm not scrapping are set aside for ebay and helping my buddy get his loads ready

And the way i break it down its uber easy to get 80 tons of cars say they average out to be 3000 lbs that means 54 cars on average for the year i hauled in 4 already and i will average about 5 a month with my friend hauling them. Once i get a car trailer or a dolly i will be able to do even more of them by myself.

now onto the 12 tons of appliances this is another easy one for me that's about 15 loads for me and i can get about 3 loads worth every 2 weeks then i also get them in spring and fall and don't forget city clean ups .

the challenge is gonna be the half ton non ferrous but in reality it wont. Because to me car batteries are non ferrous and on average at least half the cars i get have batteries and figure 35 lbs. each on the safe side for battery so say 27 batteries at 35 pounds ends up at 945

e scrap is gonna be the wild card because im hoping to hold onto a good chunk of it to pay for christmas this year

to me a full time scrapper is dealing in tons of stuff per day every day if i have a clean up where there are several tons of iron to haul i will work till the job is done then take a couple of days vacation to spend with the wife and kids then go back to my other stuff.

However i am hoping to have this be the year that I upgrade to a storage unit or warehouse to start scrapping out of and become a full on business rather then a part timer catching as catch can (facebook is my best friend in the world for all of it so far)

Personally, I think a nice little farm should open up around here. No rent for storage units, or shops, just use a building on the farm or a garage (saves money that you can reinvest to make more). Being closer to the guy that hauls for you will save on fuel too.

well 2 of the ones i lost are because i chose to let them go after the guy gave me grief on the one i did get and the 3rd one is because they decided after we agreed on a price to take all the good engine components and the cat so it would pretty much have been paying them for me to lose money
